Experienced councilmember pledges to strengthen public safety, improve infrastructure and bring accountable leadership to City Hall

CHOWCHILLA, Calif. — Chowchilla City Councilmember Waseem Ahmed has announced his campaign for Mayor, offering experienced leadership and a fresh direction for the city.
Ahmed has served the people of Chowchilla since his election to the City Council in 2014. During his tenure, he has served as both Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, giving him the experience necessary to lead the city effectively from his first day in office.
“Chowchilla deserves experienced leadership focused on delivering results for every resident and neighborhood,” Ahmed said. “As Mayor, I will work to make our community safer, strengthen our economy and ensure City Hall remains accountable to the people it serves.”
Public safety will be Ahmed’s top priority. His campaign is supported by Madera County District Attorney Sally Moreno and the Chowchilla City Police Officers’ Association, reflecting his strong commitment to supporting law enforcement and protecting local families.
As Mayor, Ahmed will support Chowchilla’s police officers and firefighters, improve streets and infrastructure, protect taxpayer dollars and promote economic development that creates good-paying jobs.
Ahmed also pledged to provide honest, ethical and transparent leadership while ensuring residents have a meaningful voice in city government.
“I will listen to residents, collaborate with community partners and keep city government focused on services that improve our quality of life,” Ahmed said. “Together, we can preserve Chowchilla’s small-town character while preparing for an exciting future.”
Ahmed said his campaign will focus on building a safer, stronger and more prosperous Chowchilla for every resident and family.
